The food pyramid is a chart of foods. It shows the five groups of foods. It tells us how much of each group of food we should eat. There are breads, cereals, rice, noodles etc at the base or the bottom of the pyramid. We should eat these foods of plenty. In the next group, there are some fresh fruits and vegetables. We must eat them regularly. The dairy products like milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, fish, beans, nuts and eggs are in the next group. We should eat them moderately. They are important for health but we don’t need too much of them. And at the top of the pyramid there are fats, oils, sweets etc. We should eat very little of them. Good health depends on our eating habit. So we must maintain the food pyramid to keep us fit.
