What is the best time for a student to wake up and go to sleep? For a very long time I had the same question for myself. My mom always used to ask me to wake up early and study, telling me it’s the best time when you can remember your lesson by studying less.

Studies should be done when you have pin-drop silence in the environment around you and you can focus on what you are studying i.e. you are fresh and not tired. That being said, different people have different styles of studies and different subjects require different ways of mastering them. Depending on the type of subject that you are studying and your style of absorbing the material, your requirement will vary greatly from that of your peers.

So, the best time is either early morning or late night for a concentrated and focused study where you need pin-drop silence. If you are more comfortable to study in the late-night hours then do that without any guilt but only on some days of the week. And, don’t sit up the entire night as then your body’s natural rhythms which are in sync with nature will be disturbed. Do it only a few days a week and make sure you sleep a good 7–8 hours for a healthy mind and body.

The things you study early in the morning are easier to register in your mind. Added bonus, you are considered a well behaved studious kid when you get up early and study.

That’s what our moms think at least! I don’t blame my mom for that though, that’s what their generation was made to believe while growing up and in the end, she only wants the best for me.

I tried to follow the best time 5:00 AM plan but believe me, I was more often than not dozing off on the book itself in the mornings! But obviously, I couldn’t go on with the same routine given. So, after a lot of analysis I came up with a trick. It’s a simple thing, I said two things to myself: “Complete a specific target for the day and study all that you can while you are awake.”

Instead of fixing time period, I set my goal with syllabus completion so I pushed myself to complete that set portion within the day (also, I would keep a little extra target/difficult target so at least I complete 90% of it).

And by not giving the forceful early morning slot to myself I made sure the time I am awake is perfectly utilized instead of snoozing my alarms and wasting the study period. Because it’s always a great time to study or there is no specific time to study!

This change in attitude worked wonders for me. You are yourself motivated to get up and complete the portion you targeted for yourself or stay up late and do it. You will automatically find a cycle for yourself where you are effectively studying. In the end syllabus completion is what matters, right?

QUALITY MATTERS MORE THAN QUANTITY OF STUDY. AND FROM MY PERSPECTIVE EVERYBODY SHOULD GO TO SLEEP IN BETWEEN AT 10:00 PM TO 11:00 PM AND WAKE UP IN BETWEEN 04:00 AM TO 05:00 AM. AT LEAST WELL SLEEP FOR 6-8 HOURS. IF YOUR HEALTH ALRIGHT YOU CAN ACHIEVE IF YOU HAVE INTEREST IN ANYTHING YOU TARGETING FOR SURE.

THERE IS A PROVERB REGARDING BEST TIME “EARLY TO BED EARLY TO RISE MAKES A MAN HEALTHY WEALTHY AND WISE.”
